Effect of Negative Energy

When the twelve spies returned from Canaan, ten of them brought a negative report. They saw the giants and the difficulties, but they forgot the power of God and what He had already done for them. Their negative words affected the whole community. The people grumbled, lost courage, wanted to return to Egypt, and even talked about stoning Moses and Aaron. Three Effects of Negative Energy √Negative energy destroys faith. The ten spies focused on the size of the giants instead of the greatness of God. Negative voices can make us forget God's promises and past faithfulness. √Negative energy makes people lose direction. Israel began wishing they had remained in Egypt. They focused on the difficulties of the journey instead of the freedom and blessings God had given them. Negative thinking can make us desire the past instead of trusting God for the future. √Negative energy spreads discouragement. Ten people influenced an entire nation. Their words brought fear, grumbling, and rebellion. We should therefore be careful about the words we speak and the voices we allow to influence us. Do not allow negative voices to make you forget what God has done. Like Joshua and Caleb, choose faith, courage, and trust in God's promises. Prayer Father God, help us to guard our hearts and minds against negative thoughts and discouraging voices. Give us faith to see beyond our challenges and remember Your goodness, power, and promises. Help us to speak words of hope, courage, and faith to those around us. Lead us forward and keep us from going back to what You have already delivered us from.
